Precious Ocean

This 2004 exhibition, made entirely of fishing line, developed due to the controversy in Byron around making the bay a marine park.  Many complained about the limited areas to fish if a marine park existed. I was more concerned with the dwindling fish stocks and biodiversity. I believe we need to conserve some areas and harvest sustainably.

I hung/pinned the works with the intention of saying; if we don’t act now, the only place we will see some marine creatures will be in museums.

This exhibition was held at Cape Gallery Byron Bay.  All works sold.
